A cycling and running collective rooted in the lanes north of Wigan. We meet weekly, drop nobody, and put a sticker on every hill that earned it.
We started in 2019 with four people, two bikes that didn't fit, and a rule we still keep: nobody rides alone. The fast riders loop back. The hills wait. The cafe doesn't open until everyone's there.
That's the whole pitch. Show up. Bring water. Try to finish. We'll handle the rest — the route, the regroups, the photo at the top of every climb that hurt enough to deserve one.
Read our story →Some weeks we ride. Some weeks we run. Most weeks we do both. Cross-training is mandatory; complaining is optional.
Bean & Spoke on King Street keeps a back room for us most Saturdays. Flat whites are subsidised. The bacon butties are not — but Marco gives the second one half-price if you look tired enough.
"We don't ride to get to the cafe. We ride because the cafe is at the end." — Tom Whitaker, founder
Meet the cafe →Every climb in our region has been ridden, ranked and stickered. Top three this season — full board on the Climbs page.
First ride is free. No tryouts. No drop. Just show up at Mesnes Park Gates, 08:30, and look for the green caps.
